Heavy-duty, 20 ounce (twenty ounces per square foot) partially-hardened solid copper ridge in eight foot lengths, Victorian style.
This ridge is made from 20 ounce, 12" wide copper stock (compared to the lighter 16 ounce, 10" wide stock used by Berger) and is ideal for finishing the ridge on a slate roof, or any roof. Made of 20 ounce solid copper, it will last forever. The extra width will cover those persistent old nail holes on slate roofs when old metal ridge is being replaced. The roll is fabriacted in such a manner as to resemble the old Victorian style copper ridge roll seen on old institutions.
We manufacture this product in 8' lengths so we can ship it via UPS right to your door in any quantity! No need to buy a full carton - no need to have tractor trailer access to your location.
You can install this by either nailing it directly to the roof using
2.5" copper nails, sold here in our store, or you can install it using
copper ridge straps and
long-reach copper rivets. A strap is simply a flat piece of 20 ounce copper (2" X 16" folded lengthwise to make a heavy-duty 1" strap) nailed to the roof underneath the ridge, but left protruding beyond the edge of the ridge. The protruding part is snipped to length, then folded up over the edge of the ridge, pounded down and riveted to the ridge to fasten it to the roof. There is a sequence showing how to install these straps
here. More information about cleating ridge metal is shown
here.
You will have to call us for shipping charges (814-786-9085) as this product defies all shipping logic due to its length. Shipping charges will be added to your purchase when the order is processed.
