For cleaning copper soldering tips: drop a little bit of molten solder on the sal ammoniac bar, then vigorously rub the HOT copper tip over the molten solder. This will clean and "tin" your copper tip and prepare it for easy soldering. [4"x2.5" block in a box]. Watch the video below to see a sal ammoniac bar in use.

You can also buy sal ammoniac grouped with flux and solder.
