This is the traditional (and hard to find) slate hammer with the beveled shank for cutting roof slate on site. It is forged of high quality tool steel and made to the most exacting standards throughout. The point, claw and hammer face are specially heat treated to withstand tough use. The claw at the center is made for pulling nails without damaging installed slate. The beveled edge at the top of the midsection is used for trimming slate. An all leather handle is featured.

Stake (Model 85-A) - 2.2 lbs, 20" wide: This is the traditional steel slater's stake to be used in conjunction with the Stortz hammers for trimming heavier slates on site. 20” long blade length, 2.2 pounds. 20" blade, 1 1/4" X 1/4" bar stock.
